After being inspired by my singer/songwriter bandmates in the Honeyville Rascals I have finally written my first two songs. I am so excited to finally have something to share with friends, family, and future audiences.
The first song, Elastico Fantastico (Amazing Rubberband), was started in Italy last fall when I was there for my daughter’s wedding. My inspiration was using a rubberband to explain how we remain connected to one another even across time and distance. It took SO many iterations of the verses to get the rhythms and rhymes pulled together. Too many ideas (six pages)! Then once I had trimmed it down I struggled to fit it onto the chord progression I had devised. But more than six months later, the song was ready for sharing. MY FIRST SONG! YAY! I will record and post it later. My cat Loup (“loo”) loves it!
