The little ‘ukulele is tons of FUN! With its small size, four soft strings (just one per finger!), and a beginner-friendly open tuning – it is a terrific tool for learning the core concepts of music – melody, harmony, and rhythm. In just a lesson or two you will be making real music! And Eric is a patient, caring, empathic teacher who is delighted by the growth and learning of his students.

Eric Jensen holds a Level 2 Teacher Certification from the respected James Hill Ukulele Initiative (JHUI) program. In addition to ukulele, Eric is part of the Seattle-based Honeyville Rascals trio where he sings and plays U-Bass (an ukulele-sized bass). He is a former member of the acclaimed Legacy Ukulele Ensemble, directed by Peter Luongo and the Ukestra Seattle Ensemble, directed by Sunga Rose.

ERIC’s Musical background

The center of Eric’s musical expression has always been singing. His past vocal experiences include performing with groups ranging from classical to a capella jazz and from madrigals to doo-wop to barbershop. He minored in Music at Whitman College, where he also directed the victorious mens Choral Contest ensemble four times.

Instrumentally, playing the UKULELE has become Eric’s core passion over the past decade or so. He has played with several ukulele ensembles and performed with good friends. In addition to the ukulele, Eric plays U-Bass and has training in trumpet, tuba, guitar and piano. In the past he has played with jazz, classical, and brass ensembles.
